500x is a joint-venture fundraising campaign of the Orlando Startup Hub, a virtual organization comprised of Canvs, FireSpring Fund and Starter Studio. 

We call upon you to support our missions to provide the necessary places, programs and funding for Central Florida's budding technology startups.

Your support will allow the Orlando Startup Hub to continue providing affordable resources for startup companies and the teams behind them to start, grow and stay in Central Florida.

FireSpring Fund

Tuition-free 12-week idea-stage accelerator program based on proven lean-startup methods.

Canvs is a coworking space where entrepreneurs can launch and grow their business, as well as collaborate and share ideas. It serves as home to FireSpring Fund and Starter Studio. 

 

Previous accomplishments: 

  • Housed more than 550 coworking members across nearly 300 companies
  • Hosted more than 300 events
  • Largest coworking space in Orlando (17,000 square feet)
  • Approaching third anniversary in August 2017

Your funding means: 

  • We can continue to keep desk space affordable
  • We can help maintain the space 
  • We can have the staffing needed to run the space and the events we host
 

FireSpring Fund is a second-stage accelerator which provides seed-stage investment to high-growth-potential tech companies in Central Florida. 

 

Previous accomplishments: 

  • Established Florida's first nonprofit seed-stage fund for tech startups in 2015 (modeled after JumpStart in Cleveland)
  • First funded accelerator in Central Florida
  • Invested $25,000 each into four local startups in 2016, eight local startups in 2017

Your funding means: 

  • We can pay for the staff and space needed to run the program
  • We can run another accelerator cohort this year and invest in local startups
 

Starter Studio is a 12-week tech accelerator program that combines mentorship with education to help early stage startups get further, faster.

 

Previous accomplishments: 

  • Seven "Starter" classes since 2013, 51 startups in total graduated 
  • Startups in total have received >$6 million in investment and generated >$10 million in revenue 
  • "Starters" now employ 91 full time and 58 part time employees 
  • I-Corps site utilizing Lean Business Model

 

Your funding means: 

  • We can pay the staff needed to run two more classes this year 
  • We can pay for desk space
  • We have the funding needed for Demo Day (graduation) for each Starter class
